Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Allegan County has been committed to preventing child abuse and neglect in Allegan County since 1983.  Our center’s desire is to provide a safe and child-friendly atmosphere to allow a child to disclose neglect, sexual, or physical abuse and to heal from the abuse.

Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center houses three programs:

  • Beverly Schroeder Advocacy Center
  • Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program
  • Prevention Education Program

All three programs work with children that have been physically or sexually abused or neglected.  Within these programs we offer free services that include: medical services, forensic interviews, counseling services, prevention education, and victim advocacy.

Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Barry County is located in Hastings, Michigan and opened in December 2013.  This is a satellite office of the Safe Harbor in Allegan County, both delivering the same mission; Providing a lifeline to victims of child abuse and neglect.

Safe Harbor of Barry County is a non-profit organization providing hope and healing to children suffering from abuse and/or neglect. The Hastings location provides free help to children and non-offending caregivers by creating a child friendly environment for a child to share his or her story and provides victim advocacy through a multi-disciplinary team.

In the Hastings office, counseling and body safety examinations are not offered. Referrals for these services will be given to caregivers and children at the time of a forensic interview.
